NT Partners with BMA to Deploy Free Wi-Fi Across 22 Centers Supporting Flood Relief Registration

National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT) has partnered with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to roll out free Wi-Fi services across BMA-operated service centers and schools. The joint initiative aims to assist flood-affected residents in Bangkok by eliminating connectivity bottlenecks, enabling individuals to submit online registration details and apply for government financial relief through the Tang Rat mobile application and the BMA relief portal at claim.bangkok.go.th.

The free Wi-Fi deployment covers 22 municipal facilities across the capital. These include seven recreation centers in Nong Chok, Lat Krabang, Khlong Sam Wa, Bang Na, Saphan Sung, Bang Kapi, and Khlong Kum, alongside five sports facilities comprising Benchakitti Sports Center, Wareepirom Sports Center, Bangkok Arena, Bueng Nong Bon Sports Center, and the 72nd Anniversary Celebration Sports Center. The service also operates across ten public libraries, including Lat Krabang, Saphan Sung, Seri Thai, Min Buri, Bang Kapi, Nong Chok, Khlong Sam Wa, Prawet, Ban Chirayu-Poonsap, and the Islamic Centre of Thailand.

Col. Sanphachai Huvanandana, President of National Telecom Public Company Limited, stated that NT is deploying its full telecommunications and digital infrastructure to support flood relief operations with the BMA. He explained that providing free Wi-Fi at community hubs ensures that residents can access state platforms smoothly and apply for relief funds rapidly, using technology to bridge connectivity gaps and facilitate broad public access to government services.

Col. Sanphachai added that NT focuses heavily on maintaining telecom network continuity in flood-affected zones. Specialized engineering teams have been assigned to monitor network conditions, inspect transmission lines, and stage communication equipment, ensuring reliable operational coordination among government agencies, emergency rescue teams, local authorities, and affected residents.
