Live Commerce

AIS Brings 5G-ADVANCED to Everyday AI Through Four Showcases at AIS SIAM

Growing consumer use of AI is one of the reasons AIS is placing greater emphasis on upload capabilities. As users send images, voice and other data to AI services, uplink connectivity plays an increasing role in the experience. AIS is connecting that network strategy with practical applications through four showcases at AIS SIAM, covering service robots, AI-generated images and videos, smart glasses and conversational toys, and multilingual tools for live commerce.

Wasit Wattanasap, Head of Nationwide Operations and Support Business Unit at AIS, places changing user behaviour at the centre of network development. AIS’s observations of traffic on its network show increasing use of AI applications, with some generating a high proportion of uplink traffic relative to downlink traffic. This informs the company’s focus on upload capabilities and its effort to connect the AI Economy concept with services consumers can use in everyday life.

“Uplink is becoming increasingly important … We are focusing on uploads because we are building our network to meet usage needs.”

This direction aligns with AIS’s intended role as a provider of National Intelligent Infrastructure. The company describes AIS 5G-ADVANCED as the first deployment of the network standard in Southeast Asia, combining AI with carrier aggregation to improve data transmission. AIS reports download speeds up to 1.5 times as fast and upload speeds up to twice as fast, with coverage across 100% of Bangkok and the capital districts of all 77 provinces. Bringing partner solutions into the showcase helps explain the applications that the upgraded network is intended to support.

Robot Dog demonstrates how AI and voice commands can be applied to service tasks. TelecomLover took part by asking the robot to return to its starting point and subsequently receiving a drink delivered by it. Equipped with a drinks holder, the robot moved to a prepared location. Demonstrations also included commands to greet visitors, sit and stand, alongside capabilities for welcoming and guiding visitors and performing different movements. The demonstrated control system operated through AIS 5G-ADVANCED, illustrating how a robot could assist with tasks in a restaurant or café.

AI Movie Scene turns AI image and video generation into an activity that begins with choosing a story and taking a photograph of the participant’s face. The system then creates a poster and a short video featuring the participant as the main character. Visitors can collect their results through a QR code and share them on social media. The format lets people try personalised content creation through a process similar to using a photo booth, showing the progression from an original image to content ready to share.

AI Glasses and AI Toy connect AI services with devices people can wear or interact with through conversation. The smart glasses display includes Rokid AI Glasses, with examples of voice interaction and camera-assisted visual analysis to help users find information about objects or places, as well as navigation and translation. AIS lists translation support for more than 80 languages among the capabilities presented. The toy selection includes AI Companion Pet Cat and AI Desktop Companion (Meteer), alongside examples of conversation, multilingual storytelling and responses to user interaction. Together, these devices show AI applications spanning information assistance, conversational companionship and entertainment.

AI Live Streaming addresses a practical need for online sellers. Users prepare product information and scripts in the languages they want to present, after which the system generates speech and adjusts lip movements, or lip sync, to match the selected script and language. The demonstration features Thai products presented on camera, showing how the software works with the seller’s image. The approach is intended to reduce barriers for people who lack presentation skills or cannot speak their customers’ language themselves, providing a way to prepare multilingual product presentations for international audiences through live commerce.

Connecting networks, devices and partner services is how AIS is translating the AI Economy concept into applications for consumers and businesses, from entertainment and everyday assistance to service tasks and product sales. Visitors can try all four showcases at AIS SIAM on 19–20 October 2026.
