nPerf Ranks Thailand No. 1 for Mobile Download Speed at 86.54 Mbps Among Mid-Income Economies
nPerf, an internet performance testing company based in France, has released its mobile network evaluation report covering tests conducted from July 1 to September 30, 2026. Thailand ranked first in mobile download speed among the top five countries with a GDP per capita between 6,500 and 10,000 US dollars.
The findings indicate that Thailand recorded an average mobile download speed of 86.54 Mbps, capable of downloading a 2 GB high-definition (HD) movie in approximately 3 minutes. This speed facilitates smooth data handling, including fast downloads of large files and high-definition video streaming.
In comparison with other economies in the same income bracket, Thailand outperformed second-ranked Peru, which registered 58.94 Mbps and took about 5 minutes to download a 2 GB file. Colombia followed in third place with 40.95 Mbps, while Ecuador ranked fourth at 37.70 Mbps with an estimated 7-minute download time. South Africa placed fifth with 31.42 Mbps, requiring approximately 8 minutes for the same file size.
