Grab Partners With Culture Ministry to Bring Community Products to GrabMart and Promote The Lost Taste Restaurants
Thailand’s Ministry of Culture and Grab Thailand have signed a three-year memorandum of understanding to connect cultural tourism, local food and community products with digital services. Planned initiatives include bringing selected cultural-product shops to GrabMart, promoting more than 150 restaurants under The Lost Taste project through GrabFood, and providing digital training through GrabAcademy.
The agreement, announced on October 22, 2026, was signed by the ministry’s permanent secretary and Grab Thailand’s deputy managing director for delivery business. It supports the ministry’s “Cultural NEXUS” approach, which connects culture with creativity and technology to create economic opportunities and help local communities generate income.
The permanent secretary said the partnership would use digital platforms to broaden access to Thai cultural stories and identities among younger audiences and tourists. Grab’s delivery executive said the company would bring its ride-hailing, food delivery and shopping services together to connect users with cultural destinations, restaurants and community products.
For retail, the partners plan to bring Thai cultural-product shops under the CPOT programme and community products selected by the ministry onto GrabMart. The aim is to add sales channels and create income opportunities for local businesses and communities.
The food initiative will promote more than 150 restaurants participating in the ministry’s “The Lost Taste” project through GrabFood. The partners aim to raise awareness of local dishes and encourage travellers to experience them at their places of origin.
The agreement also covers travel to cultural destinations such as temples, museums and historic sites, alongside support for festivals including Songkran, Loy Krathong and the Rocket Festival. Planned marketing activities include benches and umbrella stands at pickup and drop-off points at popular attractions in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Ayutthaya. QR codes on the benches will link visitors to online maps of places recommended by local people.
GrabAcademy will provide training sessions and workshops for local entrepreneurs on using technology and digital platforms in their businesses. The training is intended to help them add value to cultural and community products and develop further income opportunities during the three-year partnership.
