SYMPHONY and Huawei Sign MOU to Drive Intelligent Network Evolution, Optical Transport Network Development, AI Infrastructure and Joint Talent Development

Alex Loh Chi Kwan, Chief Executive Officer of SYMPHONY Communication Public Company Limited (Left) and William Zhang, President of Enterprise Business, Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., at the MoU signing ceremony in Shanghai, China.

SYMPHONY Communication Public Company Limited and Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a framework for strategic and technical cooperation. The agreement covers six areas of collaboration including intelligent network evolution, optical transport network development, virtualization platform and storage infrastructure, AI infrastructure innovation, intelligent operations and maintenance (O&M) services, and joint talent development — laying the groundwork for SYMPHONY to strengthen its network capabilities and accelerate its digital transformation journey.

Under the MOU, the two companies will collaborate on the evolution of SYMPHONY’s IP/MPLS network to improve reliability, automation and service experience, while exploring AI-enabled capabilities for intelligent network operations and management.

The partnership also covers the joint development of a DCI highway DWDM network to support Thailand’s rapidly growing traffic, drawing on advanced optical technologies such as 2Tbps/Lambda, OXC, Super C+L, ASON and 3D-Mesh to enhance network capacity, resilience, scalability and operational efficiency. This will further strengthen SYMPHONY’s backbone and data center interconnect capabilities to support growing traffic demand from data centers, cloud platforms and digital enterprises.

The companies will further work together on virtualization platform and storage infrastructure to support SYMPHONY’s growing cloud, enterprise and digital service requirements, and will explore AI-enhanced storage and NPU servers to enable new AI applications and business opportunities. They will also collaborate on AI use cases and solutions that enhance network operations, service capabilities and digital transformation.

The MOU further envisions cooperation on the evolution of SYMPHONY’s operation and maintenance service capabilities through an intelligent network management and service platform such as Huawei iMaster NCE, supporting unified monitoring, automation, service assurance, proactive service management and end-to-end operational efficiency. The partnership also includes a joint talent development program covering technical training, knowledge sharing and expert exchange between the two organizations. For SYMPHONY’s customers, these capabilities are expected to support higher network reliability, greater operational efficiency and more scalable connectivity as digital and AI workloads continue to grow.

Alex Loh Chi Kwan, Chief Executive Officer of SYMPHONY Communication Public Company Limited, said, “As AI, data centers and cloud services continue to reshape connectivity requirements, SYMPHONY is preparing our network for the next stage of growth. Through this collaboration with Huawei, we aim to further develop a more intelligent, automated and scalable infrastructure, enabling us to better serve enterprise and digital customers while strengthening Thailand’s digital ecosystem.”

For his part, William Zhang, President of Enterprise Business, Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said, “Through this collaboration, SYMPHONY and Huawei aim to build a more resilient, intelligent and future-ready network infrastructure in Thailand, supporting the growth of the country’s digital economy and paving the way for further cooperation between the two companies.”
